As a librarian for over 30 years, currently at Stanford’s Bowes Art and Architecture Library, Lorna Corbetta considers herself extremely lucky to have access to Stanford’s large collection of artists’ books. In addition to her work at the library, she has passionately researched the pedagogical potential of artists’ books, which includes the different subject areas that artists’ books can explore. In her talk, Lorna will outline the findings of her recent master’s thesis entitled “The Lives of Artists’ Books,” which explored many examples that more than illustrate the characteristics and versatility of the medium.
